| Welcome to Fastbreak Farm Located in western Washington, we have been involved with horses our entire lives. As children we showed as well as play-dayed. After breeding Appaloosas for pleasure and show for over 40 years our grandfather, Martin Fruhling, decided to try something new with this breed he had devoted his life too...and that new thing was racing! Racing Appaloosas was new and exciting for all of us. I can remember galloping the horses in the hay fields to get them back in shape after their winter lay off. This was so much fun! Feeling the wind in my face, their powerful body wanting to go faster and the strength it took to hold them back, was both addicting and a little scary. My oldest brother, Tom trained for the family and outside owners as well. I can remember going to the various small tracks to watch the horses run. It was so exciting! I used to wish I could stay all summer long. Now some 30 years later Tom and I have our own herd of race bred stock. We have expanded into Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds as well. Our Miniatures When I first saw a miniature horse, "I thought how darling and hmm...... I wonder what challenges are involved with raise these little guys." Until the summer of 2005 they were a passing attraction that I never actually pursued. Sure I surfed various websites, dreaming of someday owning my own Appaloosa mini and occasionally emailed breeders inquiring about those darling foals. This all changed when I decided the time had come to followed through on my dream. Before I knew it I had purchased 2 mini's from Jessica Matheson of Spirit Thunder. I absolutely fell in love with these adorable little horses. It was pure luck that I had even emailed Jessica one April day. Just by chance she mentioned her good friend Judie Knight of Knight Star was dispersing part of her herd as they were moving to Arizona. I immediately emailed Judie and within the day had acquired five Knight Star minis. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website. |
